Who we are

Buttermelle is a small independent jewellery business based in Devon, United Kingdom. We make hand-assembled charm jewellery and run charm bars at markets and events. If you have any question about privacy, email us at buttermelle@outlook.com.

What we collect

• Order details you give us at checkout: name, email, delivery address and what you ordered.
• Your saved charm designs and design notes, if you create an account.
• Your email address if you join the Charm Club.
• Basic technical information such as device type and pages visited, used to keep the site working.

We never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.

Why we use it

• To make and send your order, and to answer questions about it.
• To keep a record of your saved designs so you can come back to them.
• To send Charm Club emails, if you asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with the services that help us run the shop: our online shop and payment platform, our website and database hosting, and delivery providers. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we are legally required to for tax and accounting. Account and saved design information is kept while your account is open. Charm Club emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email buttermelle@outlook.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage to keep your basket and your signed-in session working, and to understand how the site is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may then stop working properly.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top always shows the most recent version.
